I love a room that keeps you guessing, makes you think, “huh, that’s an interesting choice, but it seems to work.”
This room is a mish-mash of new things that look like old things rediscovered.
The olive green crib from Crate and Barrel is a warm and unexpected color that can be used for baby girl this time and maybe baby boy next time.
The crib by itself is rather masculine, but pair it with a feminine paint color (Tiny Fawn), ruffled curtains (Wayfair) and a soft peach glider (Crate and Barrel) and it suddenly blends into the background forming a firm foundation for baby to rest.
Maybe most surprising in this room is the glamorous bead-strung flush-mount light – reminiscent of a flapper dress from the 1920’s.
Remember, when you’re running around town or online trying to find the perfect things that coordinate, sometimes it’s the things that don’t match perfectly that make the perfect match.
